Some people say that the Wild Classical Music Ensemble’s compact, ultra-efficient rock formula is reminiscent of Belgian singer Arno from the TC Matic period. Those guys aren’t Belgian for nothing.
Sébastien Faidherbe (bass, vocals), Johan Geenens (digital flute, vocals), Nathan Copienne (synth, vocals), Nathan Ysebaert (guitar, vocals) and band leader Damien Magnette (drums, vocals) build a unique sound that is a blend of punk/rock riffs, fanatical rhythms, fiery flute and ignited synths. On top of that, multi-voiced, multi-lingual vocals scratch harshly as much as they comfort.

In the words of lead singer Nathan Copienne, the group’s main aim is to “include people without disabilities” in the unique adventure that is each of their concerts. As well as simply making a music that contains all their life force, the intention is to show that collaboration between disabled and non-disabled talented people is by no means a limitation, but brings something different that makes the music completely unique. And certainly, very close to the heart.
Formed in 2007 at Wit.h in Kortrijk and soon performing all over Europe, the band was signed by Born Bad in 2015 and released a few albums. One of their highlights is a collaboration with Lee Ranaldo in 2019 (Hell Gate – La Belle Brute).
They recently released their album Confined (Born Bad) featuring Fabrice Gilbert, Ava Carrère, Wim Opbrouck, Shht, Arthur Satàn, Nathan Roche and Julien ZLDR, which also received rave reviews. This album was written during the period of confinement. Because of the circumstances, everyone worked out their parts in their own corners. Damien Magnette was responsible for putting the pieces together, before sending them to the guest artists, who then added their part. The final touch was provided by Jean Lamoot’s unstoppable mix.
